Escrow.com has pioneered the process of online escrow services since 1999. As the company grew, they turned to the Objectives and Key Results framework (OKRs) to find a simple way to keep everyone aligned and keep track of progress on the most critical priorities. But, while the idea of OKRs was great, they faced some difficulties in implementing the framework in a successful way.
"Our weekly OKR progress was difficult to track. Of course, it is doable by using spreadsheets, but it's still a hassle," says Kristian Sisayan, a Product Associate at Escrow.com. Spreadsheets are powerful due to their flexibility, but it's hard to see trends unless you customize everything yourself.
Escrow.com looked for a solution for OKRs-tracking. They needed a tool that was simple to use, with little to no calculations required, and that removed friction for progress updates. Tability was chosen as the answer.
It made OKR progress tracking a breeze. As a team, we make sure we update our OKR progress every Friday, and Tability is also capable of sending reminders to us to do this.”
Tability completely changed the relationship that Escrow.com had with OKRs. "Honestly, it made OKR progress tracking a breeze. As a team, we make sure we update our OKR progress every Friday, and Tability is also capable of sending reminders to us to do this", says Sisayan. What used to feel like a tedious process has now turned into a team ritual.
But it's not only Sisayan that is seeing an impact. Annie Phung, a Product Associate, also saw changes in the way they work: "The progress charts show great context over time. It allows us to make mid-cycle decisions to align with OKRs".
Adopting Tability has helped Escrow.com invest the time saved on goal-tracking back into having more meaningful conversations. This is what allows them to truly get the benefits of the goal-setting framework as a strategic tool.
Sisayan explains better reporting and tracking, "we've been able to create better reports due to the progress visualization that Tability offers. It made it a lot easier to identify when we're off track, and whether we've ticked off our action items or not."
At Tability we're super happy to see that our platform is helping teams work better together and achieve greater focus. What makes us even happier is to get feedback like this quote from Sisayan: "it's one of the best tools for product managers. Period."
A big thank you to the Escrow team who have shown their ongoing support and love of Tability!
